How To See A Thought (Large Thought)

Plastic, aluminum, aqua resin, steel, wood

73 x 57 x 19”

When I first went to Los Angeles, a friend and I, on a lark, took a tour of the Scientology Center. The image of the E-Meter (or Electropsychometer) got me thinking of aurameters and divining rods and was part of the inspiration for this piece. How to See a Thought (Large Thought) is designed to encourage physical closeness and slow, attentive perception. It is a system that assists its viewers in seeing thoughts: hopefully large, profound ones.

This piece was recently shown at MOCA, Virginia in a exhibition called New Waves.
